welcome to hlg vs life! an additional blog which is run by the maker of hlgvsfood.blogspot.com - if you like baking/cooking with a girly twist check it out! so this is the awkward first post so i guess i'll tell you about what this blog will be about. it'll be a personal blog, my life in pictures almost. i do have tumblr, which i may be deleting soon, but i want somewhere separate and hopefully something i will keep up! i never seem to keep my blogs. i always get bored and forget to update, so fingers crossed for this one! 

so for those of you new to the "hlgvs..." blogs, i'm hannah and i'm 18. i'm a pretty boring 18 year old, i don't enjoy going out partying and drinking. i like antiques (especially wedgewood) and floral patterns. i enjoy staying in on saturday nights to have a nice homemade meal with my boyfriend and writing. i'm a feature writer for a website at the moment but that's just a hobby - but hopefully will one day become a full time job! i also work in a children's shoe shop. 

i love to bake, i read a lot of cookery books and spend a lot of time watching cookery shows. nigella lawson and ina garten being my favourites. i love food and luckily my boyfriend would like to be a chef, so i'm in luck!

i collect roald dahl books. i adore his writing and first began collecting his adult stories but then decided to expand it. he has published around 50 books and i own around 10 of them.. so nearly there i guess! 

i guess that's all there really is to know about me but if there's anything i have missed out, just let me know!

so today is 8th december 2010 and tomorrow i am off to a "best parties ever" party in northampton. i am going with my boyfriend, my mum and her boyfriend and a couple of their friends. i'm extremely excited because it's a five course meal as well as cocktail bar, casino, dodgems (oh yes!) and disco.. and then at 12am they serve breakfast! it sounds like my kind of night, finishing early and nothing too exhausting! i'm sure i'll post about it friday so i can tell you all about the night then.

today was a bit of preparation for tomorrow. buying some bubbly to drink before hand, sorting my mother's extensions out and seeing if she liked them(!) and buying the final essentials. as i rarely go out at night, when i do i make a huge deal out of it. i like to make it feel special, especially as it's christmas season - my favourite time ever!

so i have fake eyelashes, nails which i will paint and now my soap and glory eyebrow pencil back, which meant i could sort them out and arch them more, i really love thick, well arched eyebrows, especially on my shaped face. and lately i'd been neglecting them and they'd become quite thin.

so that's about it for now. i'm currently watching family guy in bed with a terrible cold. i'm feeling so bad at the moment, i just need to get some sleep and relax before tomorrow. i'm not going to college all this week so i can have a really long lay in, ready to get up, wash my hair and get it blow-dried. then i'm going to do my nails and pack my bag. i probably won't have breakfast or lunch as my little stomach won't be able to take a five course meal as well!
